The Lastest Version

This Netflix adaptation of the Alfred Hitchkock film ‘’Rear window’’ has created a new plot out of ancient artwork and made it more interesting for the new generations.

Jeff it’s a editor of an important TV show and, what’s more, he’s Lisas’ husband, who has a serious kleptomania problem. Both of them have a lot of media importance so they start a plan development to blame one of his neighbours for Lisas’ little crimes. They begin to stalk them to find something to accuse them so that the media attention doesn’t focus on their legal irregularities. Starting from this, they find out about a real and tragic crime of one of their neighbours and decide to stop hiding from their felony and try to bring to light this huge crime. But, logically, no one believes the couple because of his less professionalism and they’ll need to find a way to incriminate their neighbour and come out unstcathed.

Rear Window Review

Last week, my group and I decided to see  rear window, a really famous movie directed by Alfred Hitchcock so many years ago. Well, I have to say that actually I saw it before, when I was a little girl I remember seeing for the first time this murderer story on TV with my parents. Comparing every time I have watched the film, I finally consider that it is always going to be something I won't be able to catch, the feeling is similar if you observate a picture of the Baroque artist, Bosch. You could think you have seen every element of the composition perfectly and you´re surprised when you realized not. From my point of view, there's one essential of Hitchcock's films. Each of them owns their personalities and are impossible to compare or confuse with other ones. Rear window is and was a hit, to put in context. We are told in the movie the story of L.B ¨jeff¨(with stewart as the main character), a famous photographer who has an accident on his job. This is the reason why we ...

Favourite Scene of Rear Window

The scene we have chosen is located at the first minutes of the film, where we meet Miss Lonelyheart, a single middle aged woman that is in the apartment over to Thorwald’s couple Jeff. While Lisa prepares the dinner is watching again his neighbors. On the scene we appreciate that she is setting the table for two herself and an imaginary date. She pours red wine for two and she cheers with  no one, after that she drinks both glasses whilst she weeps. When Jeff realices what’s going on, he raises a glass with her. Actually we don't know what actually happened because all information we receive comes from the suggestive vision of Jeff's binoculars. It's an extremist representation of her feelings of loneliness. A scene that should be sad, finally results in a black comedy moment in the plot, seeing the result of human wishes, or at least, the way our expectations about love are not always fulfilled. She is exhausted from being alone and is crying for a partner to pass the...
